Case Study Hochtief
HOCHTIEF is among the most significant high structure and infrastructure construction groups in the world. The focus of its activities lies in complex projects in the fields of traffic, energy, social and urban infrastructure as well as in the mining business. HOCHTIEF Infrastructure creates modern traffic infrastructure which connects people and regions and ensures that goods reach their destination safely.
As an international construction group, the company deploys its construction equipment across different regions. Due to a lack of a central data collection point, it was expensive to recognise free resources in order to use the company’s own equipment efficiently and with as little idle time as possible, as well as meet the sometimes short-term requirements of construction sites. In addition, it was difficult to write reports across projects. It was also a need to simplify complex invoicing processes.
A central server/client system was developed which provides all users with all necessary data at all times. Easily comprehensible workflows were created for every work process and incorporated into the software so that applying even complex processes like clearing and project allocations are intuitive. Furthermore, a group-wide, dynamically configurable reporting was programmed, which delivers many data perspectives on financial aspects of projects with all details for the HOCHTIEF analysts.
HOCHTIEF was able to achieve the following goals by implementing the project:
- Comprehensive overview of the equipment and their places of use for better control
- Integral overview for more cost efficiency
- Increase in productivity as a result of simplified workflows
- Central solution for improved data transparency
- Comprehensive analysis and reporting possibilities
Since the introduction of the software approximately 5 years ago and continuous further development, the efficiency of equipment management has been increased greatly. We work constantly with Specific-Group on further improvements and expect significant investment savings through the use of this system.
